Members of the RCHS FCCLA (Family Career Community Leaders of America) organization sponsored a “ Trick or Treat” Food Drive to benefit the local food pantry in Braidwood during the weeks of October 18-31, 2011. Instead of receiving candy, FCCLA members requested canned food items and paper products be donated at school.
A friendly competition was conducted between all first period classes to collect donations. Mrs. Almquist’s class had 6.0 donations per student and Mr. Fetterer’s class has 4.8 donations per student. The students and teachers in these classrooms received donuts and milk as a prize for their outstanding donations to the cause. Over 350 canned items were collected at RCHS. Thanks to any and all RCHS student, staff and faculty that participated in this worthy cause.
FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) is sponsored by family and consumer teachers Melinda Hogan and Elli Wilkey at Reed-Custer High School.
