2.5.10  Competitive Squad Finishes 14th in State Finals Preliminaries

Congratulations to the Comet Competitive Cheer Squad for finishing 14th out of 25 in the small team division.  For more results from Friday's Preliminary Round, click here.

1.30.10  Congratulations to the Cheerleading Squad for Advancing to State

The Comets Competitive Cheer Team performed in the Colfax (Ridgeview) Sectional on Saturday and placed 5th with a score of 81.90, which qualifies them to advance to the IHSA State Finals on Friday, February 5th and Saturday, February 6th.

As the 2009-2010 competitive season was getting underway, the yearbook journalism staff asked Coach Hildy three questions...

Q: How do you think the season is going to go this year?
A: Our season began with a three day Iron Man camp at the beautiful Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles Illinois.

We competed against medium division teams and earned a trophy every day. Day one the girls received a second

place trophy for the Jump competition. Day two the girls received a first place trophy for the Tumbling competition,

and on day three received a trophy for third place all around Camp Champions.Going up against much larger schools was a tough job but the RCHS Cheerleaders rose to the occasion. At the present, I believe the girls are doing very well perfecting their first competition routine.

Q: What are you looking forward to most this season?
A: The Sectional Competition on January 30, 2010. This is the competition to determine the State qualifers. There will be about 25 teams at our sectional all working hard for the honor of going to the state finals. Only the top five from each sectional qualify.

Q: Are there any goals you and your team wish to accomplish?
A: My team and I would like to participate in the state finals for a consecutive third year.
