The Runaway Stanleys

Once upon a time, all the Stanleys from Mrs. Johnson's room had a destination ... a place to go. All except for three little Stans who were left behind. They patiently waited to be packed into one of those big brown envelopes used to mail the Stanleys to wonderful, exciting places. They waited, and waited .... and waited.

Finally they got tired of waiting and took off on their own.

Knowing the children would miss them, they left a note which read:

Dear Class,

Please don't worry about us. We are fine. We just got tired of waiting for a place to be sent, so we have run away! As you can tell by the picture, we grabbed a quick bite before we left. We promise to write every day. Tell Mrs. Johnson to check her email and we'll keep you posted on our trip. Thanks for understanding! Love, The Runaway Stanleys

And so it was the Runaways were gone ... just like that! POOF! But the first thing the next morning, Mrs. Johnson had an email. And every morning after that, there were daily updates from the Runaway Stanleys. Students were studying maps in their Social Studies books to investigate just where the Stanleys might be. Daily clues were helping, but it was difficult to pinpoint their exact location.

Read the emails below and see if you can predict where they might have gone!

A warm place ...

We're in heaven ...

Our bike ride ...

A great bungalow ...

The holiday weekend ...

Island Santa ...

Story time ...

A final note: After receiving all the emails from the Runaway Stanleys, Mrs. Johnson class finally figured out where they were ...

But do YOU know?
