Reed Custer Intermediate School is one of the schools in the Reed-Custer Community School District 255-U, located about twenty miles south of Joliet, Illinois in the heart of fossil hunting country.

• RCIS is home to 510 students in second through fifth grade and Discovery Kidz Child Care.

• Special teachers and programs are provided in Art, Band, Computer, Music, and PE. RCIS has a number of special education teachers who work beside the regular classroom teachers. There are itinerant teachers for the hearing impaired and those needing occupational therapy.

• Two full computer labs are utilized for instruction in technology, and each classroom has a number of computers and access to the Internet.

Fourth and fifth grade students participate in extra curricular activities of volleyball, basketball and softball.

A fully equipped media center is open for the students daily, and the Fossil Ridge Library is just one step from our playground.

Reed Custer Intermediate School is truly a community of learners. We are fortunate to have a wonderful facility, dedicated staff, involved parents and active learners. We believe in a collaborative atmosphere where all of the stakeholders help to make decisions. As an elementary school staff, we are always looking for ways to improve student learning. The elementary staff of Reed-Custer Community School District 255U supports the district mission statement by providing a quality education that creates a foundation for each student in becoming:
