Rats! Pet rats can be kept in acquariums and plastic cages. Make sure it doesn't have wire bottoms because the rat can get its legs caught and get hurt. These furry friends don't like a lot of sunlight.

Rats like to have rat toys to play with. You can use a kleenex box or a shoe box to make a house for your pet. You can take a rope and tie it from one end to another and make a bridge for your rat.

Rats like their houses clean but they don't like them dirty so you have to keep it clean. Clean it at least once a week by throwing out the old bedding, wash the container, and put in new bedding. Don't use wood chips in your rat's house because it can make them sick.

Make sure you keep clean water and plenty of food in your pet's cage so it doesn't get sick. A good food is called Lab Blocks. You can get Lab Blocks at Petco and other pet stores.
