Have you checked out our website? It is www.rc255.net I try to keep our front page up to date. Also-you may be able to e-mail many of our teachers from this site. Please take a minute to check it out. It’s worth the time.
Our first graders do have outside recess each day. Please have your child dress appropiately each day. :)
In spring and fall, please no flip flops. Wear a sweatshirt or jacket if needed.
In winter--please remind your child to wear a warm coat and include the hats, mittens, and scarf too. Boots are required to play in the snow.
BRAGGING RIGHTS-- Shining Stars and 100 Club
We have two CLUBS just for our students. The first club is the 100 Club, and it is “for kindergartners only” if they count to 100 in the classroom. Our second CLUB is the Shining Stars Club. Kindergartners must master the letters of the alphabet to earn this award. Kids join each quarter. :)
EARLY DISMISSAL
On our early dismissal days for School Improvement, the first graders are dismissed at 11:15. No lunch is served.
PK/EC/K students do not have school on these days. Please look over your school magnet for dates.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
OUR CONFERENCES ARE Nov. 5 and 6 and Feb. 11 and 12. Students will not be in attendance on the Fridays that we have conferences scheduled.
A CHANGE IN PLANS
If you need to make special arrangements and pick up your child early, please call the school by 1:30 in the afternoon . Thanks.
NEW LAST DAY SCHOOL
Oour 2010 last day of school currently is set for May 25. This date is tentative because if we have snow days where school is cancelled, this day moves backward.
Bring your child to our KINDERGARTEN PRE-REGISTRATION IS MAR. 3-4
Will your child be 5 by Sept. 1? If so-- bring his/her official birth certificate and residency paperwork to RCPS for registration. Tell your friends too.

PreSchool Screening (No dates set yet)
Would you like your child to become part of our PreSchool program at RCPS? If so-- he/she needs to be tested. Call RCPS 458-6340 for an appt. Testing is done at Fossil Ridge library. Tell your friends.
