Any questions regarding meals or prepayment should be directed to the Food Service Manager of the school the student attends. Please call between the hours of 9:00-10:00 AM or 1:30-2:30 PM.
Prepayment:
All schools have a computerized point of sale (POS) system. Parents are able to prepay a sum of money to a student's account, which will then be debited for daily purchases. A minimum amount of $20 (or $4 if a student qualifies for reduced lunch fees) is recommended. Transactions require a student ID number, usually maintained on an ID card. If a card is lost or damaged, there is a $2.00 replacement fee.
RCPS classroom teachers hand the cards to their students before they enter the cafeteria. The cards are then collected by the cashier to account for the day's meal before they are returned to the classroom teachers for the next serving day. RCPS and RCIS students are not allowed to pay with cash through the lunch line; all money must be paid prior to the start of lunch. RCMS and RCHS students can pay cash for meals; however, the prepay method is recommended as more efficient.
When sending a payment to school, the money (a check is preferred) should be put in an envelope with the following information written on the outside: student's name, grade, and account number. At RCPS or RCIS, the homeroom teacher's name should also be on the envelope. Classroom teachers should send these envelopes to the front office by 10:00 AM. At RCMS, the envelopes should be taken to the office by 9:00 AM. At RCHS, envelopes may be dropped off in the locked box in the office by 8:00 AM. Food service personnel will collect the payments and credit student accounts. Generally, a canceled check will serve as payment receipt; however, a receipt can be written for a cash payment upon request.
Online Lunch Payments:
Funds can be added to a student lunch account with a credit/debit card through RevTrak, our online payment site. The password requested by the site is the same as the one used to view PowerSchool online. Parents with students at RCPS or RCIS will receive a letter with this information.
